About - Jade Gallagher

I’d like to introduce myself…

I am a singer/guitarist, a wife and a mummy. I have built up 15 solid years of performing experience ranging from the very early days when I’d happily play to only the bar staff, right up to performing on 10,000 seater sold out arena tours – and pretty much everything in between. I’ve honed my craft and learned endless lessons by trial, many errors and throwing myself in at the deep end way way before I started doing weddings, so in a nutshell, you guys are in safe hands when it comes to booking me for your wedding!

Wedding singing is something I kind of fell into. I admit, it took me a while to ‘surrender’ to the idea as it has always had such a stigma attached to it. Ironically, The Wedding Singer is my favourite film. It’s funny as hell and yet it depicts Adam Sandler as a ‘failed musician’ in a job that is perceived as embarrassing and unambitious.

What started 6 years ago with me saying to my dad ‘I’m only gonna do one wedding a month!’ has somehow evolved into a constantly packed 2 year schedule and me having to turn away more brides than I could’ve ever imagined.

So no, I’m probably not most people’s idea of a typical Wedding Singer. Im never going to belt out a Whitney classic at the top of my voice. I will perform at your wedding because I like to create ripples of emotion throughout a room and leave people feeling ‘something’….and once I realised you don’t need to be on an arena sized stage in front of 1000’s of people to do this…my mind set changed.

I wanted to give brides the perfect ‘entrance’ to the rest of their lives. In fact more often than not, i have to stop myself welling up when I see the bride come down the aisle…and if the groom starts crying, well that’s me finished!

Of course there are times I miss performing on stage in front of thousands of people. They are experiences I treasure – and where I learned my craft. I also love to write. I don’t get to do it nearly enough anymore, but I know its always there, like a trusty friend I can call upon when needed.

I never wanted to be famous. I just wanted to be heard. I like to make people feel what I want them to feel in 3 minutes. I consider myself very lucky that so many of you continue to give me that opportunity on a daily basis and for that I’m grateful.
